Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on August 14, 2020

Vanessa is a lost soul in search of something she can’t explain. The truth however is that she is a succubus, lost in the wilderness and there are those that wish to have her, one way or the other.

The work is a short hot flash erotic story with a bit of a succubus theme that appears in the closing pages. Prior to that, the story is more a group of scenes of the main character being captivated by their sexuality, what that leads her to, and what ecstasy she can find.

Some of the erotica has lovely heat, not being too over the top and that I thought worked well. There’s also a surprising amount of character development along the way which added to the story in ways that it really needed. But at the same time, the reveal of the main character being a succubus felt rushed and sort of tacked onto the story.

Vanessa, the succubus of the work, is very much a creature of sex more than a succubus, at least through much of the story before the truth is revealed to her. There’s so dearly little of her succubus nature told until the last few pages when other character mentions odd things that happen around her and that. honestly, for my own reasons, delighted me.

Three out of five pitchforks.

Given that much of the story centred around Vanessa being completely unaware of her being a succubus, there is honestly a lot to explore about her. Being a baby succubus, really, and having not a clue is something that has been told in many stories and series before. We shall see how things develop in the next work in the series and I hope that is in a really good way.
