Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on December 30, 2025
There is a mystery, a legend of succubi taking men for their own ends and Nicholas seeks the answers. An encounter with Lady Constance is more than he understands and when the change comes upon him, she learns what the truth of the succubi are.
The work is a fantasy adventure quest with a gender and succubus transformation story at the core which the main character goes through. At the same time there’s a mythos created around the succubi that exist in this story universe that I thought really worked well to build on the mystery and bring more life to the story as a whole.
There are some erotic aspects to the work, some fetish tones as well, and with this being a story about succubi, they make sense and don’t feel exactly out of place. There is a tone to those encounters, some are a bit over the top, but otherwise they bring a flavour to the story that was needed.
The succubi of the story aren’t evil or stereotypical, but they are so very unique and different overall. Perhaps more accurate to call them followers of Lilith’s will, that aspect worked well and I wanted to know more about that by far.
Three out of five pitchforks.
The story tended to focus on the gender transformation changes overall with the succubus aspects being something to add some flair. I thought it was interesting and well told, but I dearly wanted to know more about the succubi, their past, and what they sought out. That’s hinted at towards the end of the work, but it alone could have been a chapter or more to be explored and it feels like that’s missing here.
