Plot Summary

Timothy Hybeck is twenty-five, and deeply unsatisfied by his lack of success with women. He proclaims publicly that he wants a traditional relationship, but secretly fantasises about futanaris, women with something extra. When he drunkenly purchases a tome purported to summon a succubus, the young man finds himself with the golden opportunity to be true to himself, to have lots of fun with the beautiful and mature succubus, Valcynarix Blackheart. Yet such presents a choice: surrender to her, willingly become her plaything and admit that he wants to submit to a futanari, or else refuse her and continue his unfulfilling life. Valcynarix - Val - plays with him, shows him a taster of what he could have, and tells Tim that he has thirty days to make up his mind...

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on October 30, 2022

Tim really shouldn’t get drunk, that’s the time when he does things that are more than a little questionable. An ill-advised visit to a webpage results in a strange book being delivered to him. But that’s just the beginning as what he thought was a joke becomes very real as Val appears. Tim might not know what he’s getting into, but he’s going to learn about himself whether he likes it or not.

The work is a a long drawn out story of female domination with a futa theme that takes some time to build the story, the characters and the heat. There’s quite a lot of time spent with Val, the succubus of the work, in telling how she got there and why she’s there. That, for me, is what kept me in the story.

Val isn’t stereotypical, she’s really quite a unique succubus beyond her futa aspect. There’s a sense of her trying to teach Tim about himself as much as she’s temptation for him. Beyond that, it’s the little bits of information about what she is connected to, how often this sort of thing happens, and what she, and more to the point, Tim, really wants.

The story leading to the erotic climax I thought was very well told. more than anything the depth of thought and consideration by Val and Tim’s reaction to his desires being played on by her was quite engrossing. I enjoy world-building that leads to something ad in this story it does. Now it doesn’t explain everything nor did I expect it to, but there’s a really good hook as a result that I’m looking forward to being explored.

The dominance theme is a somewhat soft one for the most part until Tim is pushed to his limits. I thought the seduction, the teasing, the suggestions that Val put to him opened the door to a lot more story. Given what’s revealed before the close, Tim will be doing a lot of soul searching and I look forward to what that reveals.

Three and a half pitchforks out of five.

I adore Val in many ways, I enjoyed the building of her mythos and character quite a lot. Given this is the first work in the series, I will be expecting something more of the Sisterhood she talks about and some character growth by her and Tim. As things are at the moment, there’s a lot of expand on and if that happens, this will be an entertaining series.
