Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on September 2, 2018

The book summary really tells nothing about this work, and as such this is a story that seems to be about a young woman being haunted by an incubus and the aftermath. At least that is how things seem to read, but the story just has very little in the way of a story to hold onto that.

It reads like the opening to a story, but at the same time it feels also like a summary of events, a glossing over of what happened. There’s no heat, no passion and honestly there’s nothing here which holds very much in the way of interest. This is very much what I called a pamphlet work of erotica, and there is very little erotica at that.

The incubus is an idea really, save for the sexual encounter and that is so dearly bland and uninteresting. There is noting to give depth to them, the main character is something of a stereotype and a dearly uninteresting one at that.

One out of five pitchforks.

It’s an incomplete story which needs to be fleshed out quite a lot to make the narrative read better than it does. Somewhere in what is here, there should be a story, perhaps, but as things are this is just the first thoughts of a story and it doesn’t go very far.
