Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on October 14, 2018
A story of the Garden, the angels, and the fallibility that all souls have when their truths are shaken to the core. One does not toy with a Queen, especially Lilith, for the result can be everlasting.
The work is a story of fantasy set in and around the events of the Garden of Eden prior to the time of Eve and Adam. It’s a bit of a different sort of tale in that Lilith is said to be the Queen of the Garden and more beyond. At the same time her story is somewhat shaded by the story of the angels battling among themselves and the twisting of the relationship that Lilith has with one angel and how that affects Admm. It’s very much in the tone of Lilith’s mythos, if a bit on the edge of what that offers however.
Lilith is not, as yet, the demoness or succubus that she is destined to be. but there is a strength of will that comes through the work that worked well. It’s a shame that she really didn’t appear often and when she did so, it was a bit fleeting. Still, there is a seed within her that the events of the story begin to fan into flame, if but in a teasing sort of way.
Three out of five pitchforks.
It’s a shame that the series did not continue as it is interesting, it a bit uncertain in what the story was trying to tell. Something of a story of lost souls seeking their own redemption perhaps and somehow being turned away from that seemingly simple goal. How that would have turned out, how Lilith’s story would have become more central I think would have been interesting.
