Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on August 18, 2020
A mysterious death, a mysterious woman and the questions that are asked but cannot be answered. There is a truth to a story, one that the papers and television will never see. But Rosa will.
The work is a murder mystery with the twist that the murderer is known from the beginning, appears throughout, and becomes something of a narrator to what is happening around her. It’s not erotic, more a telling story of mystery and intent that presses through the story and characters to weave a larger mystery.
Rosa, the succubus of the story, is something between aloof, uncaring and, at times, rather flippant of what she has done and the reasons why. She is a mystery herself, there is a lot that is not explored about her and beyond that comes the things she becomes entangled with. While she is a succubus, that aspect of her is somewhat teased in the background and really doesn’t become important to the story, save of course of what happened between her and the doctor.
Three out of five pitchforks.
The story closed in a place where the next work in the series would follow, but that never happened. It’s something of a lost series then with a succubus that is interesting, a story that seems to have a lot going for it, but never will see that played out.
