Plot Summary

What would happen if your nightmare became a reality? Dione, the voracious amazonian giantess, is convinced her extraordinary physiological characteristics are turning her into a succubus. Her two loves, diminutive blonde Suzie, and Black futanari Kaz, have quite a bit of trouble accepting that possibility… until Dione grows a tail. What other equipment has been bestowed on her? What must she do in order to survive? How much of a danger does she pose to Suzie and Kaz?

Several mysterious deaths cause consternation; why do people die with no apparent cause of death? Will the appearance of an incubus have an impact on the trio of beautiful lovers? Will another succubus prove to be a friend or foe? How does Dione deal with an eight-foot tail in her day-to-day life? Can she adapt her extensive fetish wardrobe to hide it? And what exactly does Suzie ask her to do with it? The Dione Deviation is a darkly amusing fantasy with a touch of horror, following the trials and erotic encounters of a newbie succubus.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on September 29, 2023

There’s something very weird going on and Dione can’t make up her mind if it’s a problem or possibly the best thing that’s ever happened to her. Sex isn’t anything bad as far as Dione is concerned, but that damn tail has it’s own ideas and as for her lovers, together they can overcome anything. But lurking are things which have their own ideas about Dione and if they have their way, it might change more than just Dione forever.

The work is a delightfully cute and funny combination of fantasy adventure and mystery which mixes in many fetish themes such as futa, BDSM and, of course, a very strong undercurrent of succubus themes and characters. While there are some slightly horror aspects to the storyline, it doesn’t dwell on that, and I think what makes the work special are the more loving moments between Dione and her lovers that are passionate and needful.

The complexity of the storyline, how events unfold and return as the story progresses are written very well. There are’t any characters that feel two-dimensional or don’t have a purpose in the story. Small hints are scattered here and there, but nothing foreshadows the climax of the plot overall. The mythos which is built up around Dione and the succubi in the story fascinated me, both in how much effort was put into them. The characters are not singularly good or bad, they are shades of grey and that offers some unexpected turns in the work as well.

Dione, the main character of the work and series, is transformed fully into a succubus and it’s one of the more unique descriptions I’ve read. Not so much in her physical changes but rather how her personality becomes that little bit sharper, slightly more passionate and where that takes her and her lovers. She is not, at all, stereotypical. She’s not perfect by any means, there are lots of points at which her actions don’t quite work out for the best. But that said the one thing that never changes is her love and desire for her lovers which grows stronger as she battles against her new self and the world pressing on her.

The erotica is something of a very slow burn which has spikes of heat along the way. The futa aspects of the erotica, the heat from the fetishes, and the connections the characters have through the erotica add a lot to their growth and development, which fascinated me.

I adored the story and characters as a whole and Dione is just such a complex character which held me in the story. It’s not really needed to read the prior works in the series, but doing so allows the connections between the characters to work better here. Given how complicated this work is, and all of the threads that weave through it, I wonder what’s next for Dione and her lovers.

Three and a half out of five pitchforks.

Dione isn’t the sort of succubus one might expect, and that’s a delight honestly, but perhaps in the next part of the series there might be more time given to her understanding herself and her loves, being more of a seductress than having to battle her way through the story. There’s an idea that amuses me, which I won’t share, but it would be deliciously fun if it happened. A very good read and well recommended.
