Plot Summary
My name is Chanel Ashwood, and I never expected my third year of undergrad to be exciting. Picking med schools to apply to was the only thing on my radar until he waltzed into my life. The dreamy, insatiable Corbin McDufe swept me off my feet and opened my eyes to the world in a way that I never expected. Now I see demons everywhere. He transformed me into a monster, a succubus, exchanging spectral pleasure to satiate my hunger. Now my whole world is turning upside down; demons, witches, angels, and devils. What will I face next, and will things ever go back to normal?
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on October 20, 2020
It was supposed to be fun, it was supposed to be romantic. But then Chanel finds out that the guy she’s smitten with is an incubus. Now a succubus, she has her own problems and he’s not helping. If anything he’s making things worse and she might not really care.
The work is a romance adventure mixed with a succubus coming of age story that works well overall. A bit over the top at times, a little lost on the edges, but that’s a reflection of the main character really. The erotic heat ebbs for the most part, there being a few scenes when the heat blooms, but most of the time the heat is trying to find itself. Still, the story is captivating and kept my interest to the closing pages.
Chanel, the succubus of the story, is very much a lost soul and even with the help of the incubus that transformed her, things just do not go right most go the time. What I thought was the most interesting was when she was learning her powers, being forced, for lack of a better word, to control herself. Her nature is to be kind and it clashes with her new desires and needs which are a battle to themselves. That is uniquely told, and it is done in a way that is very unexpected in spite of the mess she finds herself in because of awe new nature.
Three out of five pitchforks.
Very much a coming of succubus age story with a romantic tone and a lot of twists. It’s more than I expected, if leaving a lot of story in the rush to get to the last page. How things close leads towards the next work in the series and I am sure that will no less complicated.
