Dominic wanted to summon a familiar, what he got was an incubus with an alluring smile and a temptation he might not be able to resist.
The work is a very short, what I call a pamphlet, erotic hot flash with a male/male theme. It’s in a bit of a rush, the characters become entangled quite quickly and as things progress there is a fair bit of fetish as well that appears. With that said, the story is really well told, the building of tension and attraction is well done and I thought it really worked well too.
Conrad, the incubus of the story, is somewhere between mischievous and slightly evil. He doesn’t appear with horns or tail, but his sensuality mixed with an attractive personality works well to create an incubus that is more temptation then just being evil and I rather liked that. but there is very little about him revealed in the story, much is shaded and a mystery and it would have been nice to explore it more than it was.
Three out of five pitchforks.
The story closes with a very odd twist which works and is very unique. But there’s just this overhanging question of what comes next for both characters and Wonder about that.
