Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on September 9, 2018

Eliza doesn’t just enjoy sex, she craves it endlessly. Purchasing a home with a torrid past comes with warnings, but really they are just stories. Except when an incubus comes calling and Eliza discovers a new craving and desire without end.

The work is a short erotic hot flash with something of an incubus haunting theme. For the most part, the story sets up the main character’s life and sexual desires before they encounter the incubus of the work, being taken by them, and then the story comes to a close.

The incubus, who is never named, or really is more than a ghostly figure, does not feel like they are evil, but there’s so little beyond the sexual encounter told that all else is a mystery. Perhaps the series would have fleshed them out more, but that never happened.

Two and a half out of five pitchforks.

It’s an interesting start to a series, but that never came to be. As such the story ends in place of longing and need which feels like something of a curse really. It’s a shame that the series never happened, that the truth of the incubus was never explored.
