Plot Summary

After yet another long, exhausting day at work, Julia collapses into bed. More than anything, she just wishes she had someone to spend her small amount of free time with. When she wakes in the middle of the night, she's stunned to discover she isn't alone after all. A peculiar, inhuman creature called an incubus reveals itself, and it turns out she managed to subconsciously summon the demon with her desperate desire for a companion. It's a surprise to find him there in her room, but she finds herself intrigued by the situation, and eager to enjoy the company of the incubus in full.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on October 22, 2023

Julia is so dearly tired all of the time. Tired of her job, the commute and things are getting to the point where it’s just impossible to carry on without something rare. A good night’s sleep. Perhaps Dimitri will be able to help, after all, an incubus knows a few things that might just make Julia feel better in all sorts of ways.

The work mixes a romantic theme with an incubus lover and a main character who, all things considered, accepts the impossible and enjoys all that comes with doing so. The characters are fully written, their passions have wonderful heat. The humour in the dialogue when Julia meets Dimitri, the incubus of the story, and his reaction and seductive nature are a delight. It is a very short work, but within the story comes character development, history, needs and desires which add so much to the erotica as a whole.

The erotica takes up much of the work, but before that happens, and even within the erotica itself, the connection between the characters, the tales told, needs expressed, and desire that blooms take the story from a slow burn into a very hot flash which I throughly enjoyed.

Dimitri, the incubus of the story, is not at all stereotypical, being something beyond just a creature of sex alone. The story told about his, and that of the incubi, and I hope of the succubi in this universe, speaks volumes. He’s considerate, mischievous, passionate, caring, and yes, he does tend to take control of events as the erotica plays out. But he isn’t evil, far from it, seeming something more of a angel of pleasure with horns and a tail, which amused me to no end.

This is such a wonderfully fun and erotic story by far. Julia and Dimitri are wonderful tougher, their passions really shine throughout. It is very short however, which is a real shame. Still, as things stand this is a fully realized story of a lover and her incubus. How the work ends seems to point towards the possibility of another work to follow and I’d like to see that.

Four out of five pitchforks.

Taking their relationship from the bedroom into the real world would be interesting, not the least of which the erotic situations that would unfold. They seem so very right together, there would be, of course, some friction in their relationship. But that’s what makes the erotic heat more of a delight. A lovely read, well enjoyed and simply wonderful.
