Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on January 5, 2021
A mirror is not always a mirror, sometimes it is a gateway to another world, another self, and another that seeks a measure of revenge. Falling into the orbit of Iris, a succubus trapped by angels, but now freed by Adrian. His reward is becoming Adriana, a succubus like Iris, and together the angels will discover what succubi are capable of.
The work is a very short hot flash piece of erotica with a focus on gender transformation and a fantasy adventure theme. It’s a bit rushed at times, some of the scenes and moments felt like they could have been extended for a few extra pages for the sake of making the story flow better overall.
While there are moments of erotica, they are somewhat muted and more of a simmering heat to add a bit of flavour to things. The gender transformation is fleshed out well, it’s interesting and with the addition of the succubus transformation of Adriana, I think that worked quite well.
Iris, the main succubus of the work, and Adriana, when she appears, aren’t stereotypical by any means. They are very much succubi, but being seductresses and manipulators of others than being anything really evil. Iris has an agenda, she is very focused on that, but at the same time her dominant nature over Adriana isn’t over the top and that worked well to draw them together in the story.
Three out of five pitchforks.
For the most part, while there are aspects of a succubus story here, and the main characters are succubi, it’s a bit more focused on the gender transformation and Adriana coming to terms with herself. It is interesting and the characters are more so. That said, the story ended in a place which offered stories to follow, but never did and that’s a real shame.
