Plot Summary

A man dribbles across a basketball court and into Roxy Orrosco’s sight. She’s a succubus and always on the lookout for high-class prey and nothing excites more her than an attractive man who is tall, dark, and handsome. In her rise from the bleachers, she ponders how to make her move and follows him across the stadium. But instead of catching, the succubus is caught, and when her prey takes on the role of predator she decides to play along. Inside the private area of his bolted locker room, the couple embraces at the beginning of what becomes a passionate afternoon.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on April 25, 2021

A basketball game is the perfect place for Roxy to look for her next snack. When a player catches her fancy, the hunt is on and she’s going to have what she wants. One way or the other.

The work overall is a hot flash with the majority of the story detailing how Roxy gets close to her prey. The actual erotica is very short and really doesn’t have a lot of heat. There’s a lot of descriptions of her bumping into people, the moves she makes to get past security and so on. But beyond that there’s really not that much internal monologue to hold things together. Roxy’s motivation is very singular and it tends to take away any sort of character development there might be overall.

One of the things that could be improved is settling on a viewpoint for the story. Sometimes it’s Roxy, sometimes it’s a narration of events that refers to Roxy as “the succubus” and that reads oddly.

Honestly the narrative and story telling is very good as a whole, but reads awkwardly at times. I’d like to see more development in Roxy’s character than there has been. There’s a lot of good ideas, given a bit more effort in telling the story rather than showing the story I think would go a long way here.

Two and a half out of five pitchforks.

Book three in the series, Casino Succubus, will be appearing soon and I dearly hope there’s more to it than a hot flash. Roxy seems like she’s more than that and really seeing that unfold seems to be what’s missing in the series so far.
