Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on July 12, 2019
A dream of bliss and sexual delights draws a soul into the waiting arms of a succubus with desire and hunger. The passion leads to the inevitable conclusion that the darkness brings to the night.
The work is a very short, what I call a pamphlet, erotic hot flash with a succubus theme and the aspects of which come with such stories. The heat builds well, the story tempts and teases as the main character falls to the succubus and overall that is well told.
The succubus of the work, who is never named, is something of an etherial being of lust, want and desire. Her form and actions tell her story, there is not a word spoken by her. She is a mystery through much of the story, delighting in taking her fill of the main character until the last page or so when the story takes a bit of a horror aspect to it. It’s hard to call her evil exactly, she is more of a farce of seduction with an edge that cannot be resisted or overcome.
Three out of five pitchforks.
It is a shame the succubus was never given a name, more so that she never speaks a word, and we know nothing about her really save her hunger and desire to feel upon the main character. The work closes in a way that is very much expected, and really feels too short and sad in comparison with all else that came before. The story is well told, but really this could have been a chapter in a larger work and it should have been.
