Plot Summary
Alexis Black is a succubus, half demon, half fae. Demon kind were hunted by the other races in the supernatural world, and she had the misfortune to make a huge mistake and get caught. Her kind were executed on sight, but the council were investigating her past first. Follow along as Alexis is forced to relive her early days, when she was naïve, didn’t know what she was, why she was so obsessed with sex, and how she comes to terms with all of it. She also needs to escape in the present, if she doesn’t before the council is done with their investigation, then her and her lovers are as good as dead.

Life sucks, then you become a succubus and then it really sucks. Life has never been easy for Alexis, but a mistake costs her and there’s no choice but to tell her story and see where that takes her, or ends her.
The work is a snarky fantasy themed adventure set in a modern world that has the supernatural mixed into it. It’s very dark at times, the main character is something of a mess for most of the story, and overall there just a bit odd with things overall.
It’s also an exploration of the main character herself, where she came from, the moment her powers came to be and what happened then and what is happening to her now. There is some erotic heat which ebbs and flows, some of it is a bit over the top and some of it works to simmer the heat and add to the story.
Alexis, the succubus of the story, is rather unique overall, being a mixture of fae as well. How that fae magic works with her succubus powers I think was well told and explained and made a lot of sense. She is so very snarky, but in a way that made me like her quite a lot. As for her succubus nature, those aspects come to the fore, her powers are expired well and overall telling that story and how it shaped who she becomes by the end of the story is revetting.

A very complicated story overall with a lot of twists and turns which make things interesting. At the same time, there are some rather large plot and character holes needing to be explored more than they were. Still, an interesting read with a lot of snark which amused me and kept my interest.
