Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on November 10, 2019

The work is a mixture of erotica, drama and mystery wrapped around the main character and the succubus that he encounters. It should be intersting, it should be quite a telling story. It should have heat, there should be passion and mischief to enjoy.

But the writing and editing just is odd from the first word. The way things are described at times feels like someone dumped a dictionary over the text, stirred the letters and let it dry. It just doesn’t connect, doesn’t allow for the story to carry the reader when the reader is trying to figure out what the words are trying to say in an over completed way.

Zarinlyn, the succubus of the story, is very much a temptress, and yet there’s more things odd about her as a succubus which comes from the story trying to make use of her than anything else. She is intersting, but her personality and all else gets caught behind the writing and just doesn’t come to the fore as it seems to want to.

One and a half out of five pitchforks.

The work needs a lot of editing, the story reads strangely, the dialogue is very off putting as well. There is a story here, but is it so buried under a writing mess that it just doesn’t come out to the fore as it should.
