Plot Summary
Connor thought he was running to the rescue of a woman being assaulted. He didn’t expect to come face to face with a real, live succubus. A starving one. Every guy before him ran from her overeagerness to jump into bed, sensing a trap. He did too, but was willing to chance it after taking a few precautions. Sometimes it pays not to avoid the crazy ones.
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on September 18, 2018
No deed, whether good or bad, goes unpunished and as for Connor, the choice to save Felicita from what seemed to be a terrible fate doesn’t turn out that way. A succubus has her needs after all, and sometimes they have to make the worst of deals to get what they need.
The work is a short erotic hot flash which is a bit odd in a number of ways. The main character starts out as being well intentioned, but by the end of ehe story just becomes something of a cretin. Beyond the main character being awful and becoming worse as the story is told, there’s a point when the turn in the story just seems like a means to an end and that end just didn’t work for me at least.
The work needs another editing pass, the dialogue reads very rough, the narrative is just slightly above an adult movie. As for the erotica itself, the succubus of the story, Felicita, is on the edge of being more of an animal and, being so desperate, just takes things in a direction that didn’t appeal overall.
Felicita at times is sensual, a tease, very much a temptation and in her true succubus form, with horns, wings and tail, is a delight. But there is so little told about her, about how she got to the situation where she finds herself and that’s a big plot hole that needed some explaining.
Two and a half out of five pitchforks.
There are some interesting, and actually quite hot erotic moments in the story. The problem is that the main character became so unlikeable that I was hoping that Felicita would find a loophole to get rid of him. It’s not often that I think that in the middle of a story, but being a terrible character should have its consequences and it’s a shame that didn’t happen.
