Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on July 22, 2018

A story of mystery, vampires, sex and succubi and what happens when one’s desires are made real. Perhaps not everything is perfect, but one does have to start somewhere after all.

The work is a short erotic hot flash with a vampire theme that carries a lot of mystery and heat as things progress. It’s more focused on the vampire aspect of the characters, but there’s bits and pieces of something more that is hinted at, but really isn’t explored as much as I thought it could have been.

The question of succubi is mostly set in that fragment of Jess and her sister’s past. They aren’t exactly succubi, save for their need for sex and the passion they have. Still, it’s something that creeps in and gets touched on a little bit. It’s a mystery and in that I wonder about it.

Three out of five pitchforks.

Far more a vampire romance with a bit of succubus flavour to the story, it’s interesting but feels like the opening to a series than a story by itself. The mystery left behind is worth exploring and I wonder about some aspects of it. Most of all who grandmother is and if it is who I think it is.
