Plot Summary
Lights! Camera! Action!
Wait, that’s Hollywood, not Las Vegas. Close enough. There were definitely lights and a lot of action, when I first discovered the paranormal world was real. Hunted by the head mage of Las Vegas and the United States Paranormal Agency, my choices for safety were diminishing. Especially when my life force was being drained from my body at an alarming rate. In order to live I had to put my trust into a burly shifter, a sarcastic mage and their very own Nephilim, hoping that one of them would save me, the succubus, from the worst possible death. Being saved by USPA’s agents had its advantages, advantages that came in the form of three hot men and a spot on their elite team.
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on November 29, 2020
Sometimes the choice you make isn’t for the best and sometimes you don’t get to make the choice in the first place. Still, for Nessa, being saved by a team of sexy men is just the start of things, it only gets weirder from there.
The work is a modern day mystery adventure with an erotic edge that follows the main character, who is a succubus, as she deals with her situation and all of the temptations and problems pulling on her. Quite fast paced, the story tends to rush between events and in-between there is a bit of time spent with Nessa’s thoughts which added a lot to her character.
The erotica has heat, a bit of a slow burn that carries throughout, especially with her, if not coworkers then perhaps handlers, in more than one way. There’s a bit of a twist in that respect and it does add something to the story that I hadn’t expected.
Nessa, the succubus of the story, is somewhere between being a bimbo at times and very much a seductress as well. Her personality is quite a delight, the trouble she finds herself in does at points get a little over the top however. Her succubus nature is a bit shaded however, being more focused on her sexual needs and the attraction that others have towards her. I would have liked more told about her past, her learning to control and use her powers as a succubus. Still, with that aside, there is a good deal of character development for her and I enjoyed that.
Three and a half out of five pitchforks.
The work closes in a place that leads obviously to the next work in the series and the second work amused me as much as this one did. Nessa is a tease, lost around the edges, trying to figure things out. There is a lot of story building and a universe to create her and that’s interesting. I really hope that at some point there will be other succubi appearing to tell more of their story than what appears here.
