Plot Summary

These Rebels Without a Claus are aiming for the naughty list this year in a collection of holiday inspired, reverse harem stories, including:

  • Merry Hexmas by M.J. Marstens & A.J. Macey: Nora and her guys are back for a little Christmas fun, but no one seems to be in the holiday cheer. Luckily, Gram-Gram’s got the perfect spell to fix it all...or is it a curse?
  • Succubus Tidings by L.L. Frost: The demons of destruction surprise Adie with a series of holiday themed dates, but when nothing ever goes to plan in Adie’s life, will her men be able to pull off a stress free week of holiday fun?
  • A Very Haunted Christmas by Jarica James: Brea and her crew are finally enjoying a Christmas vacation, one that isn't a job. At least that's what they thought until things start going bump in the night. Check out the Spirit Vlog in an exclusive Christmas story!
  • Her Shifter Surprise by Helen Scott: Nina is in for a Christmas surprise from her shifter mates in this bonus scene from the House of Wolves and Magic series. What did they get her for Christmas? Something sweet? Something sexy? Something sparkly? You’ll have to read on to find out!
  • A Christmas Moment by Cali Mann: After her harrowing escape from the executioner, Chuck Denison, Sasha’s just looking for a little peace this holiday season. But as a spirit shifter in a world of elemental shifters, Sasha needs four mates to keep her sanity, and she only has two. Even a newfound family and a Christmas celebration won’t keep the darkness at bay for long, but maybe, just maybe, Sasha can find a way to savor this moment.
  • Mistletoe Mates by Sedona Ashe: My name’s Candi Cane, and every eligible male in my pack is looking to get a lick this year. I’d rather die. Let’s have a Christmas hunt, they said. It will be fun, they said. What ‘they’ didn’t say was who they planned to hunt... or what the prize would be. Oh yeah, that would be me on both accounts.
  • Amber's Christmas Surprise by Mia Harlan: Amber's mates bring home a Christmas surprise. Can they find creative ways to keep her occupied so she doesn't open it early?
  • Santa's Naughty Helpers by Fiona Starr: Jingle those bells! Nothing says Christmas Eve like a day spent volunteering at the annual Kringle Mart benefit, and Ava and her men are dressed in their elfish best. They are ready to serve and see what naughty things they can do in Santa's Workshop.
  • Last Christmas by Lola Rock: Raya wants to stay with her boys forever, but how long can an immortal keep seven fragile mortal males? It’s their last Christmas together, and it’s about to dawn in blood.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on June 17, 2022

Adie loves her demons of destruction and with Christmas arriving there’s much holiday fun and games and cheer to delight in. Perhaps she might even get them all to have a happy time too.

This is a short story that falls in the midst of the author’s (Un)lucky Succubus series. It’s a mixture of humour, desire and exploration which fits in well with the main series themes. Really it could well have been made a longer story perhaps and become part of the main series, but this is nonetheless a delight to read.

Adie is every bit the whirlwind she is, her three demons are as stubborn as they always are. Along the way there’s some really nice character development that just gives a lot of lovely quirks and fun to the group as a whole. The ending is especially loving and wonderful, and there’s a scene involving a gingerbread house that was wonderfully funny.

For the short story, four out of five pitchforks.

For the work as a whole, three and a half out of five pitchforks.

The collection was a lovely read, but overall Adie’s story was the only work that I delighted in. Adie is just wonderful as a succubus character and has always brought me a smile in her adventures and discovery of herself. Such characters are wonderful wherever they appear.
