Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on August 9, 2020

Everything started with a concert, a mistake, and an offer Sadie couldn’t refuse. But when she comes face to face with Jarex, things get out of control and the truth changes everything.

The work is an erotic hot flash of mystery and adventure mixed with an incubus edge to the heat and a surprising turn in the story at the last page. The characters are interesting, the heat builds well, and when the main characters become entangled, it’s quite a lot of heat and passion that worked really well to tell the story.

Jarex, who can be described as the incubus of the story, is very much a creature of sex, both in personality and physically, but there’s also an edge to them that’s somewhere between evil and seduction that mixed well with the main character’s own personality and needs. The focus is on how he affects Sadie, the sex scene that develops, and what follow afterwards makes a lot of sense considering all that came before and the hints along the way.

Three and a half out of five pitchforks.

The story ends in a very unexpected way, and with that comes a lot of questions about the main character that really needed some exploration. It’s a bit too matter of fact, a little too easy of how things are accepted by her. It would be really interesting to see a story in the aftermath, to figure out her real story and what that really means. As it is, there’s a lot of unanswered questions and those are what I wonder about.
