Plot Summary
A tired lawyer is traveling in the desert. He comes across a small town and needs to stop. The desert is messing with his mind, showing him mirages that aren't possible. After a small-town diner experience, he has to release his inner darkness to satiate a demon from the land itself or forfeit his life and soul to her.
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on July 12, 2026
The road is long and one needs to stop from time to time. But the diner isn’t quite what it seems and as for the waitress, she’s a hell raiser.
The work is a very short, what I call a pamphlet, erotic hot flash with a bit of darkness around the edges and with the main characters themselves. The story is told in something of a rush, the detail is a bit glossed over as well. Still, there are moments of domination and submission which added a lot to the story and allowed for a shift in the characters themselves.
It’s rather complicated overall, much of that comes from the main character, who like the succubus of the story is never named. The shifts in tone, the shaded horror that becomes wrapped in sex and need is rather unique as well.
The succubus of the story, who is never named, falls somewhere between being a creature of hell and a lost herself. She’s interesting as a character, mainly in her personality and how things change around her. More so the effect she has on the main character and then how she shifts in form to be something more than the monster she was for the monster that she is with.
Three and a half out of five pitchforks.
The work closes in a place that offers possibilities. Perhaps more so for the main character in that their mature isn’t quite fully drawn out. It is a shame that neither character was named, that the background of each wasn’t explored. It’s mainly about the darkness within and what happens when it comes to the fore and that was interesting to see.
