Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on May 12, 2019

A good deed sometimes opens the door to unexpected horror, and once on the path, there’s little choice given to the unwary at all.

The work is a short horror-themed story with a bit of a suggestion of there being a succubus who creates the horrors around her. It’s not erotica by any means, there’s really nothing overall that gives the succubus a perch other than to twist the people around her and take what she can.

Adriana, the succubus of the work, is more a force of evil and she’s not quite seductive evil at that. The wheels she puts into motion, the events that unfold have little really to do with a succubus which then leaves a lot to be desired about her. It’s more so when she is in the story, but really not part of it for the most part, becoming the puppeteer from the shadows and leaving her a mystery unresolved.

Two and a half out of five pitchforks.

More a story of impending horror than a succubus story overall, it’s a bit thin as a result. Perhaps the next work will gather the succubus aspects and do something more with them. We shall see what comes and if there’s more to this than the sense of horror throughout.
