Plot Summary

John, a lonely man, finds himself lost in erotic fantasies night after night, wanting--craving--the intimate touch of any woman at all. One night, his dreams come true as Nadia--the Midnight Temptress--manifests in his bedroom and makes all of his sexual fantasies and desires come true. Though she's there for an alternative reason, Nadia transfigures herself into every woman that John could possibly fantasize about, but surprisingly finds that John can do things for her that no human man has ever done.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on September 5, 2023

John has a wish, a hope, but there’s no possible way for it to happen. His desires call from the ether Nadia, a succubus who offers to fulfill his fantasies, if he makes a deal with her. What follows is a journey through lust and love, passion and discovery not just for John, but for Nadia too.

The work is a lovingly told story of self-discovery, the finding of one’s self-worth and though the development of both main characters there comes a remarkably emotional tale. This isn’t simply a story of erotica that is all about the sex scenes, though there are many of them over the course of the encounters. It’s more about how Nadia brings John to realize things about himself, to see that he can be more than he thinks he is. That his soul is bright and has promise most of all.

In the telling of John’s personal transformation comes erotic scenes that have wonderful simmering heat which builds through the story to the climax. That erotica isn’t over the top or feels odd overall. Each encounter that John has with Nadia in another woman’s form has a slightly different feel to each and the reflections afterwards by both Nadia and John are captivating.

Nadia, the succubus of the work, is very much a succubus in her powers and overall form. While she does have a darker side that she talks about in the latter part of the work, Nadia is also so very clear on her purpose and what happens when she meets a dark soul. But that doesn’t come into play with John and more so, Nadia becomes something of a means to open John’s eyes to his own truth, which was a delightful tale of its own.

This is truly a wonderful story in so many aspects. The mixture of emotional writing and the heat of passion works so very well. Both Nadia and John have their own stories to tell, but it’s more how much depth they have within themselves, how they both grow and change from where the story begins to the bittersweet ending.

The work as a whole tells a rich and fully realized story and it’s well worth a read. The ending does leave some interesting threads to carry to a follow on work, or something to think about and wonder what happens next. I think it would be interesting to see John about a year later and Nadia returns to help again. The other possibility might be to return to the beginning here and take Nadia to another character in the work and see where that might go.

Four out of five pitchforks.

Irregardless, a well recommended work that tells a story of wishes and desires. Unexpected, surprising and a delight which is what all such stories should be.
