Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on August 12, 2018
A tragedy brings a woman into the clutches of an incubus with one purpose. For herm there will be no escape.
The work is a very short, what I call a pamphlet, erotic hot flash written in a very over the top way that reads more like porn than it is erotica. There’s really no connection between the main characters, save for the sex, and overall just wasn’t that interesting.
The writing could use another editing pass for the flat sounding dialogue, the bland narrative as well. It is lacking heat and the story itself, beyond the sex, just felt wrong from the start. The work began in a dark place and by the end that isn’t resolved at all. It’s a means to get to the story, but then disappears to be replaced by the never ending sex scenes.
The incubus of the work, who is never named, is stereotypically focused on sex and nothing else and honestly was a very dislikable character. There’s no heat or passion, just sexual need and with that comes a lot of sex that is just meaningless.
One out of five pitchforks.
So very much over the top, the characters just weren’t interesting and overall this is more of a script for an adult movie than a well told incubus story.
