Plot Summary

Erick has been studying incubi for years, with two major obstacles in his path: there is hardly enough information out there about them, and no one seems to take him seriously! A ritual on a night just before the full moon bolsters his resolve to attempt a real summoning later, but the sudden appearance of a beautiful, mysterious stranger could prove that Erick needn't have doubted his abilities in the first place.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on November 25, 2016

Erick desires to summon an incubus and has for so many years. Taking a chance to try, one more time, he finds that a stranger arrives in his world and when Val turns out to be an incubus, there’s only one thing to do. Love the incubus he’s with.

This is, more than anything else a love story which tells that story in a way that leaves me aching for Erick in his desires at the beginning, smiling at his awkwardness when he encounters Val. While some of the erotica is a little odd in the telling, it doesn’t take away from how the characters are connected and what each of them desires. The story is rich with character, telling of Erick’s love of incubi, his expectations of them and how dearly he craves to be able to touch them.

Val is delightful and not at all stereotypical. He has an amazing personality, the story that revolves around him is fun and captivating. While there are hints of a slightly mischievous nature, he doesn’t act, or appear, to be evil or nasty. He’s very much a lover and a lover that Erick has been needing for so dearly long.

That then is the charm of this work. How the two characters encounter each other, the things they have in common, the needs they each have. There really didn’t need to be a lot of erotica because the story itself was erotic at times without having to put both Erick and Val in bed together. The heat between them is told wonderfully from the first moment and joyfully so.

The erotica itself has some odd moments, mostly reusing some words and actions several times over which seemed a little bit strange. That said, the heat is true to the characters, nothing over the top or strange happens and there’s even a little bit of tail involved which made me smile.

The work is short however, ending at a loving moment for the characters, but not telling of what happened after their first encounter. I’d love to know it Val moves in with Erick, how their relationship grows and what happens along the way. But in spit of the shortcomings, I adored the story and both Val and Erick dearly.

Four out of five pitchforks.

A delightfully cute story within which the main characters have delicious chemistry together. The erotica is a little bit odd in how things are described, but otherwise it is just a lovely passionate story about finding the way to one’s dreams.

After all, isn’t that part of what Incubi are?
