Helen is not like the other girls and when her nature bring her to encounter a circle demon, she discovers that the truth is something other than simply a guilty pleasure.
The work is a very short, what I call a pamphlet, coming of age and truth story with a bit of erotic moments around the edges. There’s quite lot of mythology wrapped up in the story as well as a rather odd main character and the mystery of her nature itself.
Along with the story of Helen discovering herself, there is an ever-present darkness that sits within her and it does bring about some encounters and events that turn so very dark and foreboding as well.
Helen, the main character, is never really called a succubus exactly, though her ability to dream walk, her sexual nature and the effects she has on others seem to point towards that being true.
Three out of five pitchforks.
A captivating and yet so very odd story overall. Helen is a succubus and not at the same time. The story is dark, and yet it tells of something more than that to be found. Just so very odd and difficult to place exactly, but very much something unique by far.
