Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on September 26, 2025
The life of succubi is filled with moments of passion, grandeur, loss, heartbreak and sadness. In each memory comes both regret and delight in equal measure. But in each comes a simple truth, it is their own souls that define who they are, and why things are.
The work is something between a memoir and a biography that the main character Jennifer, who is a succubus, reflects upon. It’s a bit scattered around the edges, there are hints and plots cast out but not really a lot is done with. Some parts are very deeply involved and they cast a light on Jennifer, but overall it feels a bit lacking.
It’s not a work of erotica really, there are some moments of passion, but overall this is a work which focuses on Jennifer other than being a succubus for the most part. Her nature is skimmed over, succubi in general is a subject that is not delved into very much and really needed to be.
Three and a half out of five pitchforks.
The ending I felt left something to be desired overall. While it closes out the story, there’s something missing in the end. I do wish that Jennifer’s nature had been explored more, that the world of succubi been as well. Still, an interesting if somewhat lost story overall.
