Book Review

Fate seems to be anything but kind to Julie, the life of a succubus is a lonely one after all. But fate and love have other plans, assuming that she can stop tripping herself up and accept that she can be happy.
The work is a lovely fantasy romance story with quite a lot of heat and erptic energy as well. It’s fun, a but silly, the characters have depth and stories to tell, which I enjoyed. At the same time its’s a bit frustrating in that romance sort of way where the characters are their own worst enemies and it takes forever for them to get past the fears and find the love that they have for each other.
Julie, the succubus of the story, is anything but stereotypical, if a bit odd and little lost in herself. She is a succubus, her powers and aspects are very much present through the story. At the same time I wish there had been more time spent in delving inside of her more, to explore succubi in this story universe more and to tell more of the mythos as well.
Four out of five pitchforks.
It’s a shame that the series didn’t continue, there’s quite a lot of passion, heat and fun to be found, if a little frustrating at times. It would have been nice to see more about the succubi than there was, I feel like there are stories left unsaid and that would lead into the series. But that never happened and that is the real shame here.
