Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on August 24, 2025
There are secrets around Kaia that she doesn’t understand. The revelations are deep, the truth hurts, and along the way, who and what she is might matter less than who she cares about.
The work is a very complicated story of self-discovery wrapped in a mystery adventure set in a supernatural themed setting. Very fast paced with many twists along the way, it’s something between a young adventure and an erotic one with a slow burn from beginning to end.
Kaia, the main character of the story, is a half-succubus and that part of her nature comes out over the course of the story. It mainly leads to a number of erotic scenes, some end well, others not so much so. Her nature as a succubus is a bit glossed over, there’s not a lot of detail, save for her sexual nature and a skimming of how her power as a succubus and a witch come together.
It’s an interesting story with a lot of twists and turns to explore. But Kaia’s succubus nature is something of a tagalong to the overall story and plot. It’s not that it isn’t important, but rather there was less exploration of what part of her with everything else that happened.
Three out of five pitchforks.
The work ends in a place that obviously points towards other story, to carry on the mystery and explore this story universe deeper. It would be interesting to explore Kaia’s past, her father, and how things came to be as they are. Perhaps they will, there are a lot of threads left dangling at the end of the tale to explore.
