Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on November 25, 2018

There is something very wrong at the place the Julis works at. There is something dark, something evil and it is very hungry. Sometimes the only thing to do is survive and sometimes it takes a bit of faith in new found friends to do that.

The work is a mixture of teenage horror and adventure with a strong supernatural theme to tie things together. Ot is very much focused on the mystery, finding answers, more or less, and overall it’s a fascinating read overall.

The characters have strong voices, some of them aren’t exactly what they appear to be and within that question comes some really interesting possibilities. Still, this is a story of darkness and in that the story is very much a dark one overall.

One of the characters, Sasha, has sort of a succubus air about her, more that it is the tone of her character and how she acts really. It’s not clear what she is, save for bering called a demon child at one point and her nature and personality. It’s all so very vague and a bit confusing, but then the story tends to be a little confusing much of the time before the story comes to a close.

Three out of five pitchforks.

The work closes in an interesting way which really needs a follow on story to tell about the other characters in the story. It’s all very mysterious and very familiar at the same time and in that comes a story that is really well told. But as for this being a succubus story, that’s sort of in passing and hinted at really.
