Plot Summary

Aster Cross is a young Incubus trying to live a life as close to human as possible in New York City. His life was turned upside down 7 years earlier when he woke up to find his girlfriend drained of her life force and cold to the touch. Although his memory does not offer any clues to what really happened that night, Aster is convinced that he was responsible for her death because he had been unable to control his deadly thirst. When Emily’s parents become suspicious that he had something to do with her death, Aster does the unthinkable, he runs. Emily’s death becomes a dismal consequence of his curse and haunts him for most of his early adult years.

Aster thought he could run from his past but it soon catches up with him when a woman he had been in contact with was found dead in her apartment, appearing to have been killed under the same peculiar circumstances. His quest to track down the person responsible for the murder causes him to cross paths with a mysterious dark haired vixen from his past. In their moment of intimacy he finds that she is an unrelenting source of nourishment for his insatiable thirst for life force and discovers a shocking truth.
