Plot Summary

He's a cowboy first. An incubus second. He's cursed to pleasure any woman who calls him forth--but never shall he be in love. What happens when a woman bound to his past pulls this shadow lover from the darkness and into the light? Spontaneous combustion? Gasoline tossed on flame? Hell fire? Or redemption?

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on November 24, 2019

The work is a story of redemption, discovery, loss and the meaning of truth and why that matters. It’s not really erotic overall, there are some points where there is an erotic moment or two, but otherwise this is very much a character development story overall.

It is dearly complicated, some of the narrative gets twisted in on itself and there are points where the story needs a bit of an editing pass to bring out the story better than it is. Call it something lost in translation perhaps, pieces of the puzzle get shaded behind events and characters and while most are resolved by the end, there are some which left me wondering.

Kash, who is described as an incubus, is something of an enigma, and incubus yes, but then everything gets twisted for reasons that matter within the story itself. He’s not stereotypical, but at the same time there’s an edge to him that I found a bit distasteful at the start of the story and it took quite some time for him to be more the character he needed to become.

Three out of five pitchforks.

The work is such a complex tale and with that comes quite a lot of character development that kept my interest. While it is, in many ways, an incubus story, it’s really more centred on righting a wrong and brining things full circle for the main character.
