Plot Summary

In a world where power is gained through pleasure, one woman stands tall.

Meet the ultimate Guild Slut, a succubus with a heart of gold and a body that's pure sin. She's got the stats to prove it: Charisma 99, Lust 100, Stamina 100. No challenge is too great, no challenge too big, no desire too taboo.

From orcs to elves, from barbarians to hunters, Lyra takes on the guild's greatest adventurers, one service at a time. With each encounter, she grows stronger, her powers expanding, her body evolving.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on April 6, 2025

Sometimes a game isn’t what you think it is. Alex loves gaming and there’s one game he’s amazing at. But a twist of fate takes him into the game world and things become so very different. The world is real and he has to live within the rules. But the game has other ideas and when his new reality appears, she will never be the same.

The work is an erotic LitRPG fantasy story with a bit of gender transformation to mix things up for the main character. Beyond that the erotic aspects focus on the character, once Alex and now Lyra the succubus, gaining her experience and power while then leads towards her becoming something more than she was.

It’s rather fast paced, the erotica feels a bit rushed, the transformation could have been better described as a whole. Similarly, her changes and shifting focus really needed to be explored more for the sake of the story having more depth than just the sex scenes alone.

Lyra, the succubus of the work, isn’t evil or stereotypical by any means. But it’s a bit difficult to get a really good feel for her as much of the time her thoughts are scattered, she’s mostly focused on the sex, and her stats keep coming up in her thoughts. Every time that happened I was pushed out of the story and I really didn’t want to be.

While there are succubus aspects and themes in this work, it’s something of a disappointment in that there’s really little exploration of Lyra as a succubus. A bit too scattered, a little lost and, for me at least, there’s just something missing in Lyra being a succubus. Much of that comes from the work being so short, the number of side events that the story takes also seems more like an outline than the story it could have been.

I think, overall, that this didn’t need to be a LitRPG story, it could have worked really well as a fantasy adventure mixed with a sort of coming of age theme for Lyra as a succubus. She’s interesting and it feels like there is a lot of story that didn’t appear, but really should have.

Three out of five pitchforks.

How the story closes seems to offer the possibility of a follow on work, and that’s something needed here. It is LitRPG, but not to the extent that many others are buried in statistics. That’s promising, at least for me and how the story flows. Still, the book summary keeps bothering me with what it offers and it’s that aspect of things that I’d like to see explored further than it has been here.
