Plot Summary
They were on spring break and decided to throw a party. He warned them not to, he warned them about his family's secrets, but they didn't listen. When they chose not to heed his warning, they had to learn a painful lesson. It is not wise to play with dark forces they know nothing about!
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on July 24, 2026
One should never play with the arcane, less so the wiles of a succubus summoned without knowing what will happen. But youth can be arrogant, a bit too sure of themselves and any evil succubus will be more than pleased to devour them, souls and all.
The work is a very short, what I call a hot flash, teen horror story with a succubus tossed into the story to provide the evil, to a point, and the fates for the characters. It’s not erotica as such, it’s far more focused on the doomed teenagers, the fate, and what is the real plan behind everything that happened.
The succubus of the work, who is never named, is rather stereotypically evil, given that her nature to seduce and tempt is rather not played on a lot. She tends to be more of a demonic presence with all of the aspects of that, and as for her personality, it’s a bit one-dimensional really. Her physical form is very much a succubus, and if she was a temptress rather than just sucking life and souls, along with a bit of blood and mayhem, she could have been a lot more interesting than she was.
Three out of five pitchforks.
The work closes with something of a unique twist and really it’s one that was not telegraphed so it is a surprise. This would make for a good start to a longer novel and perhaps that’s a thought the author needs to consider. With that said, it’s a bit too short, the succubus is a little too stereotypical, and the twist in the tale doesn’t really overcome that. But it is much better than most teenage horror movies out there and it would make for an investing movie at least.
