Plot Summary
A mage's apprentice stumbles upon a powerful artifact that allows him to summon a futa succubus. What will the apprentice do with a succubus willing to fulfill his every need and desire? And where will it ultimately lead him?
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on August 1, 2025
A scroll leads Veilyn to the making of a deal with a succubus. but the deal never seems to happen. Or does it? One can never quite tell what the thoughts of a succubus truly are and why they do the things they do until it is far, far too late.
The work is a fantasy adventure which is quite dark and foreboding from the first page to the last. It’s very much a story of a soul being used, led on, and then consumed by a succubus and what darker events happen along the path. Most of the story is focused on the development of the main character Veilyn with the succubus Kaelivara being a means to an end for the plot itself. The erotica focuses on the futa aspects of Kaelivara and a bit of BDSM as well, which simmers over the course pf the story towards Kaelivara’s purposes.
Kaelivara, the succubus of the work, is very much a creature of evil intent, she has a goal in mind for Veilyn and leads him by the nose towards it. To be fair, she is an evil temptress with a purpose and everything she does from the start is focused on that, including her futa nature to gain that little bit more control over Veilyn.
However, it’s something less of a succubus story than it is a story about a seduction becoming a means of control towards an end. As such that works well, but overall the succubus aspects are somewhat muted overall. The majority of the story follows Veilyn through his choices, few of which are good ones, and the slowly building anger within him that eventually drives him into being Kaelivara’s unknowing puppet and something a bit more than that.
Three out of five pitchforks.
The ending is, honestly, a bit expected from the first moment that Kaelivara appears and it fits with the overall mood of the work and the main character’s own personality and drive. Overall the story was a bit dark, a little too set in the depths of anger and self-destruction which I really don’t enjoy very much. As a story about being careful what you wish for, it’s very apt however, and as a futa erotica work, that aspect works well too.
