Plot Summary

All Connor wanted was for his significant other Roxi to relax. Opening her new café has been stressing her out. So to help her unwind he concocts his special Bliss Out Hot Chocolate. Only it doesn't go quite as planned.

Roxi's not relaxed at all. The seal containing her succubus nature is deteriorating and the hunger for sex is wearing down her self-control. Connor calls on his best friend, an incubus, for help.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on October 30, 2011

Chocolate is an interesting thing. Now while that might be interesting in taste or in other things, it is, occasionally, seen as an aphrodisiac. For Succubi this can be a good thing… Well most of the time at least unless of course someone does something that makes it a bit different…

It’s all a question of how you manage to do that…

Roxi is the succubus in this work, but she isn’t a true succubus, she’s technically a half-Succubus, half-vampire crossbreed. Now this is something that has bothered me a lot when reading fiction in that the concept of the two mythologies being able to be joined together in one person seems… wrong for lack of a better word. But I put that aside almost immediately when reading the story as it isn’t that much of an important point to the overall story.

Roxi’s significant other, Connor, a warlock, notices that Roxi seems really tense and attempts to help her to relax by feeding her a bit of a chocolate recipe he knows that he hopes will help her to relax.

It doesn’t quite go as expected. In order to be able to survive the needs she has as a Succubus and not manage to kill someone, a ceremony was performed in the past where Roxi met Connor to “seal” away the Succubus and let her live a normal life. But somehow the chocolate damaged the seal and Roxi is now, once again, very dangerous to others.

Oh, and the chocolate angle of the story comes from the chocolate store the two of them own and that gives us some very sexy and hot scenes between the two involving ice cream among other tasty treats…

The seal gets weaker, Roxi gets more needy and wild in her need for sex and, eventually, Connor has no choice but to call on a friend who is an incubus to help him reseal Roxie again…

…and then the scenes really get hot…

The characters are well fleshed out and feel very real in their emotions and actions in the story. It’s clear how much Roxi and Connor are in love with each other and what they mean to each other. The scenes are written with a flair towards trying to make you see, and feel, clearly what they are experiencing…

And what Roxi goes through is very, very yummy…

The story was tightly written with a clear point to the story and a good ending to it. I didn’t feel like there was something missing in the story, nor did I think that it was too short a work as happens a lot in stories like this.

It wasn’t a flash story with the focus on sex scenes and nothing more. There was a plot and development in the story and that made it a pleasure to read…

Four and a half pitchforks out of five.

Roxi needed horns and a tail, no vampire, and she would have been perfect…
