Plot

Short Summary

An old pack mate of Dyson, Cayden, arrives in town and asks for his help in tracking down a stolen Mongolian Death Worm. Dyson enlists the help of Bo and they discover that it will be sold in a Dark Fae auction. Cayden's arrival triggers memories of Dyson's past when he was part of a pack fighting for their King. This includes a long dead friend and his mate, Ciara, who he was attracted to, and the events that lead to Dyson's leaving the pack, including the moment when Dyson first met the Norn that took his love for Bo. Bo enters the auction and wins, but afterwards she and Dyson discover that the person running the auction was the partner of Cayden and are betrayed by him. Dyson and Cayden battle at the end of the episode, Cayden escapes and the worm is recovered along with Ciara who Dyson had been lead to believe had died. Lauren escapes the Ash and takes sanctuary in Bo's home when she is told that the Ash will be forcing all humans he owns to be in cages when not serving him. At the end of the episode, Lauren is with Bo, and Dyson is with Ciara.

  • Bo fed on Cyden to recover, but afterwards he didn't seem to be as drained as Dyson usually was when he helped Bo. Why?

Answers in this Episode

  • There is a myth about Mongolian death worms. However they are described as being a bright red worm with a wide body that is 2 to 5 feet (0.6 to 1.5 m) long. It is not clear what the actual Fae creature looks like in the Lost Girl universe, but it seems to be able to inhabit human bodies and apparently cause no harm to its host.
  • During the middle ages, Dyson was part of a pack of wolves that served a King in battle against his enemies.
  • Dyson had two pack mates he was close to, Cayden and Stefan. Stefan's wife was Ciara and Dyson was attracted to her and seems to have continued to be.
  • Dyson originally met the Norn at this time when Stefan was ordered by their King on a mission. Dyson attempted to save his life by bargaining with the Norn, but the cost was to be the loss of his wolf which he refused. After he met Bo, he went to the same Norn again and sacrificed his love for Bo in order to save her in the Season one finale: Blood Lines
  • The Ash treats all humans as things and not people, caging them when he has no use for them.
  • Lauren bakes really well.
  • Ciara is part Fairy and part Scuffock. What a Scuffock is, was not made clear, but she taught Dyson and the shifter pack he was with the art of war.
