Plot Summary
What does a wrathful succubus do for revenge? Kathryn Broch is about to find out.
Having consumed the life force of thousands of humans, this entity has become an expert on our deepest fears. The dark secrets we try to keep hidden are its weapon of choice. A master of disguise, it can appear as anyone or anything it desires. The vision it shows Kathryn summons an old insecurity that menaces the confidence essential to an outcaster.
Protecting Kellan, her spirit-vessel brother, is a full time job, but Kathryn is now up against the impenetrable secrecy of her love, Evan MacTavish. Something horrific happened to him in the war and he never intends to reveal it. Knowing this dreadful truth would torment the Brochs, the succubus seeks to expose it and call Evan’s trustworthiness into question. But this monster is just getting started.
Kathryn’s eradication plan becomes clear, but she must wait for the right moment. The succubus exploits the delay to strike a sudden and devastating blow—one from which the outcaster and her tribe may never recover.
