Trey deals with monsters, but the demon before him won’t be a pushover. Or perhaps Trey will be when a deal is struck and both of them might be better off for the deal made.
The work is a male/male erotic fantasy story with a bit of an edge to the characters and how things develop. Very strongly focused on domination and submission themes, the characters spend much of the story dancing around the point of things before the erotica comes into play.
The erotica is a bit over the top, some of it being forced and as for the domination, it’s harsh and doesn’t appeal for me at least. IT’s one thing to be dominant, it’s another to be dominant and respect the submissive that gives that power over themselves.
Sulien, who can be described as the incubus of the work, is very male, very single minded and overall is something between a sex demon and a bit of a trickster as well. He’s not exactly evil, staying short of crossing that line, and as such there are some aspects of his personality that amused me.
Three out of five pitchforks.
It’s a bit too over the top with how Sulien acts, the domination that unfolds as well. It makes sense in the story and with the two characters, but it was less passion than what I think this could have been. The work closes in a way that offers a path to another story about these characters and if that happens I would b more interested in Sulien’s world and much of what was hinted at but not explored.
