Plot Summary

All Stanley wants — or thinks he wants — is to escape his hometown to a faraway life of quiet academic pursuits with his childhood crush, Jodie. But someone is exposing and exploiting the congregation’s dirtiest secrets. A devil who pulls Stanley into a circle of debauchery with the people he’s trusted his entire life. As his friends and respected elders give their souls over a new religion, a religion of lust and perversion, Stanley faces the sickening revelation that, at the centre of it all, is the girl of his dreams.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on November 4, 2025

Stanley has desires, thoughts in the back of his mind that tease sometimes when he’s not careful. Sometimes such things become far too real, and the result becomes a path on which his reality will change evermore.

The work is mainly a story about domination and submission with quite a number of fetishes thrown into the story as well. There’s a fair bit of manipulation, perhaps a little mind control around the edges which draws the main character into events and situations that spiral out of control. As a result, there is an air of mystery that comes into play which carries the story along through to the close which both brings closure and leaves a lot of questions behind.

There is an erotic aspect overall, it’s a bit muted and lacks heat for the most part. The female domination was interesting to watch unfold and some of the entanglements were as well. However, many of them were a bit less than passionate, feeling a little rote and it was a shame as they could have been a lot better with more passion to them.

There are suggestions of succubi in this work, at least once it is made clear that they are. But at the same time, it’s not overt really. It is again only towards the close of the work that the truth comes out and they fully appear, but are cloaked in mystery and shadow, which overall made them interesting in that respect.

Two and a half out of five pitchforks.

It’s an interesting story overall, though the succubus aspects are rather thin and in passing much of the time. There are points where they are clear, towards the last third of the story, but overall it’s more of a domination/submission story overall. With that said, the succubus aspects are intriguing and it would have been nice to explore them further than they were. Something different overall which was interesting overall, just missing something for me at least.
