Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on May 17, 2026
The book summary as it appears, really doesn’t tell anything about the story, though the quote used is very relevant to the overall story. With that said, this is a story about conflict, need, desire and domination and how one can be damned by their truths and the fates they press onto those around them.
It’s somewhere between a horror mystery and dark erotica overall with a bit of teenaged angst layered over top. There are quite a lot of dark moments, the characters seem to be seeking their doom for the most part of the story and in the midst of this comes a succubus to delight in the emotions and needs around her to her own dark ends.
Serenity, the succubus of the work, is very much a creature of ill intent with a dominant and erotic personality. There are aspects of her nature, such as dream walking that are very succubus-like. She is also so dearly a dark creature with darker intent throughout the story, but her personality and how she invests herself with the main charactrs manages to keep her from being completely stereotypical.
Three out of five pitchforks.
There’s a lot of angst, even more darkness, and overall it’s a bit of difficult read at time for how dark everything, including the characters themselves, are. With that said, it is interesting, the character development works and the climax and close of the story makes sense with everything else that happened before.
