The Gates is an American supernatural crime drama television series that premiered on the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) network on Sunday, June 20, 2010.

Episode 1: Pilot

Nick Monohan and his family move from Chicago to a quiet community called The Gates. On his first day of work as the new Chief of Police, Nick must investigate a missing person report. The Radcliffes try to stay under Nick’s radar, not wanting him to learn of their involvement in the disappearance. Charlie Monohan makes a new friend at school, but she has a boyfriend. This is the first appearance of Andie Bates in the series. At this point, she is not revealed to be a Succubus.

Nick is uncomfortable with what he learns as he investigates the death of the last Chief of Police. After Claire's latest lapse in judgment, she must deal with its ramifications. Brett tries to work on his relationship with Andie, while she realizes she might have feelings for Charlie. She also notices a rash on her back and goes to see her Doctor about it. She is told that it is caused by stress and accepts that. However, the Doctor is lying to her as she knows full well that Andie is showing signs of being a Succubus.

There's a robbery at The Gates which is found to be the work of a history teacher that works at the gates academy. Meanwhile, Brett does his best to get his relationship going again with Andie, although she still finds herself drawn to Charlie and breaks up with Brett. Little actual information on her Succubus nature was given in this episode.

A hunter's disappearance brings unwanted attention to Brett and the pack and a secret affects Charlie and Andie's relationship. Nick and Dylan try to overcome their differences at a father-daughter dance. This episode revealed what Andie's powers could to do a man. After only briefly kissing Charlie, he passed out in class. Afterwards, Andie commented to Charlie how great she has been feeling since he got Mono. Lastly, Andie's father prepares to tell her what's going on.

A girl's gone missing, and there are those who'd like her to stay that way. It seems like Dylan is quite upset to find Nick poking around the scene of her disappearance. It turns out everyone's secrets aren't quite as secret as they'd like. Andie's father explains about what being a Succubus means to her. She will attract men unwittingly and kill them with the poison of her kisses. Andie then googles succubus to find out just what kind of demon she is, and it tells her the same thing her father did: you will kill boys with your body. Do not ever love.Andie sees Dr. Peg and is told that being a succubus is like being cold blooded. You can't regulate your own body. So her body uses up more energy that it can produce and has to tap it from others. Peg's been working on some way to fix the energy regulation problem, so Andie can take herbs like diabetics take insulin. Later on Andie asks her father whether sex with her mother drained his life force away. This quickly turns into a safe sex talk. At the end of the episode, Andie's Father tells Dr. Peg that he had to kill his wife because she was unable to control her powers enough to keep from killing him.

In the sixth episode of The Gates, Chief Nick Monohan investigates the murder of the town gossip. It appears she was killed by a vampire, given the telltale puncture wounds on her neck. Andie’s condition is getting worse, and yet again, she caused Charlie to pass out when she kissed him. She hasn't been taking the pills that Dr Peg made for her, but as the episode ended, we saw that in a bout of contrition for causing Charlie to collapse again, she began taking them.

Episode 7: Digging the Dirt

Dylan and Nick try to find incriminating evidence against Frank Buckley. Meanwhile, Sarah tries to have the ladies of The Gates bond by planning a swimming party. Claire and Karen try to talk Sarah out of drinking Devon's tea as the effects are becoming worse. Nick and Frank in the end have an understanding and Nick finds out why Frank fought so hard to have The Gates against Harrison. Andie is suffering from severe side-effects of the medicine she is taking to keep her succubus side in check. Both Brett and Charlie can see something is wrong with her but it’s Brett she finally confides in, once she finds out that he’s different too.

Episode 8: Dog Eat Dog

Nick tries to defuse a possible turf war between werewolves and vampires; Brett and Andie's relationship rekindles; Mia turns to Devon for guidance. Andie breaks off her relationship with Charlie, and begins bonding with Brett over their shared supernatural heritage. Since Brett is a werewolf and can heal quickly, it’s possible that she will pose no threat to him, despite the fact that she is a succubus. He also pushes her repeatedly to embrace what she is and make use of her powers as a Succubus.

Episode 9: Identity Crisis

An FBI agent searches for a criminal who may have taken refuge in The Gates; Andie grows weaker by the day; Charlie finds himself with an unexpected new crush; Dylan and Claire struggle to repair their bond. Andie kisses Brett and he proves that he can survive her powers. Mia, Doctor Peg’s daughter, decided to help Andie by taking some of Devon’s Devil Weed. Andie saw Charlie and Brett's ex-girlfriend kissing and seemed to be reconsidering her feelings about him.
