The work ends in a place that feels right for the main characters and offers something of possibilities of where the story might have gone to in another work. Plot Summary
At first, Quinn isn’t impressed by Keane. He’s cocky and has sex on the brain. The polar opposite of her. Despite their differences, something blossoms between the two.
Never one to take things seriously, Keane is an incubus coasting through life without a care. When he meets Quinn, her lack of reaction to him piques his interest. No human has ever been able to resist him.
As Keane and Quinn struggle to understand what is going on between them, something sinister rocks their world. Young incubi are vanishing, and Keane's friends go missing. Someone is after his kind. When Quinn is kidnapped, Keane must uncover who is behind the abductions and get to her before it's too late.

There is something very odd about Quinn, and for incubi like Keane that is not so much a problem as it is a chance to have the one thing he’s been missing. A friend. But there are threats to his kind and that might get Quinn killed and his hopes lost forever.
The work is something between a modern day fantasy adventure and mystery with a relationship side to things that make things so much more interesting as a result. It’s not erotica, though there are some hints of that however. While this is a story about incubi and succubi, the story sort of tangentially touches on them rather than making them the focus. There is a mythos created, quite a lot of it really, but some of the aspects are left shaded. That’s probably for the best as the minutia mattered very little to the story overall.
Keane is anything but stereotypical, and is really one of the more unique incubus or succubus characters I’ve read about. He’s very much his own character with his own personality and that comes through well. The growth over the story for him is fascinating to watch unfold and when the truth of the mystery comes out, the reveals of the mythos are a bit rushed, but then the climax is fast paced and it wouldn’t read well being drawn out.
There are other succubi and incubi as well in the story, some are light, some are so very dark. Save for one character, who felt very one-dimensional, they all add aspects to Keane’s world and story that brought a lot of complexity to the story which I enjoyed.
Four out of five pitchforks.
The work ends in a place that feels right for the main characters and offers something of possibilities of where the story might have gone to in another work. It’s a shame that didn’t happen as there is quite a lot about the mythos constructed here that needed to be explored further. But with that said, it is really well written and I thought the author created something amazing.
