Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on August 29, 2025

There are things that go bump in the night and Jessica finds herself at the mercy of a succubus with dark intentions. There’s nothing she can do as Max does as the succubus demands and what follows is nothing good at all.

The work is a very short, what I call a pamphlet, piece of erotica with a succubus possession theme that turns dark and by the end of this story is even more so. While there are some moments before the actual erotica that built suspense and opened the door for the succubus to appear, the overall theme and narrative just didn’t appeal to me.

The succubus, who is never named, simply possesses Jessica. entices Max to have his way with her, and then disappears. It’s disappointing because there are points where this could have turned into a succubus transformation story or a corrupting of Jessica story instead of what did happen.

One and a half out of five pitchforks.

While there are some succubus aspects to the story, it’s more a story of possession and what that leads to. With all that leads to Jessica being possessed, it really wouldn’t have been difficult to transform her fully, horns, wings and tail, then have the succubus leave Jessica as a new succubus to have her way with the town. That would have been so much more interesting than how things closed here.
