			A good deed sometimes results in an evil unleashed. One cannot be sure of those met in a darkened wood asking for help, for they may wish to take more than what one might be offering in good faith.

			The work is a very short, what I call a pamphlet, historical fantasy with a succubus character on the edge to push things along. While there are some erotic moments, this isn’t a work of erotica overall. At the same time the writing is a bit odd, the dialogue feels like it is missing something and the narrative has a lot of gaps which seem to happen as a result of how fast the story moves and the rush to get to the ending.

			Joossine, the seeming succubus of the work, is barely in the story, has really very little aspects as a succubus and overall she’s more of a creature of evil intent and not much more. Given how little she is in this story, she becomes more of the catalyst for all else that happens, so there is so little told about her and it’s a shame really. Given her nature and what happens, there might have been a lot more done with her and it would I think have added more than there is.

			One out of five pitchforks.

			The work is barely a story with a succubus as one of the characters and even that is so very fleeting. It’s an interesting mix of myths and stories. one being so very obvious really. Still, there’s just a passing interest in Joossine as a succubus and then she’s forgotten. It’s a shame really what this turned out to be from what the book summary offered.
