			Jim finds himself in the arms and tail of a succubus named Shar. But Jim isn’t like all of the others that Shar has been an escort to. He asks for something more, something that Shar didn’t quite expect. Their time together brings to Jim a truth that only Shar could tell him. The cost of that, however, isn’t at all what Shar being a succubus would make one believe.

			The story tells of a whirlwind weekend in which Jim, the main character, finds himself in the tender care of Shar. That by itself is an interesting plot which of course leads to several lovely hot flashes of erotica. The scenes are not overwhelming, they don’t take over the story. They are there to add some spice to the arrangement between Jim and Shar, and I though that worked really well.

			Shar is a wonderfully complex character as a succubus. I especially found captivating the abilities of her tail, one of which I’ve never seen before but makes perfect sense when you think about it. Shar is funny, smart, talented and most of all she doesn’t take fools lightly. Jim’s request from her seems a simple one, but really it pushes at Shar and over time the dynamic between the characters shifts. It did make sense, it wasn’t unexpected, and how Shar made things turn towards her was really well done and it felt right for her character.

			If there’s one thing that’s lacking, that comes to so very little being revealed about Shar herself. She’s a mystery, who she is, what she wants and needs is a bit murky being hidden behind her escort persona. It’s perfectly reasonable, after all the encounter is a job after all, but that left I felt so much character to be explored that wasn’t. I’d love to see who she really is. To that point, a comment from Jim towards the end of the work gave me pause to wonder.

			The writing is very good, though one more editing pass would have corrected a few missing apostrophes. The characters have strong voices, the main ones especially, but the minor characters aren’t cardboard, they have purpose and that adds depth to the story. I just really wish there was more told about Shar. There’s a really good story to be told about how she came to be where she is. I hope that might come someday.

			Four and a half out of five pitchforks.

			For a new use of a tail that I hadn’t considered, for Shar, a wonderful character, a delightful succubus. For a story that is wonderfully told. But needing more about Shar herself, who she is, and most of all, what would make her happy.

			There’s a line at the very end of this work that I wish would push the author towards another work with Shar. It would be, in all honesty, a perfect resolution to both Jim and Shar’s tale.
